We would like to thank everyone who entered and supported our show last year.
Our annual show is for members to exhibit the results of their hard work in the
garden and the kitchen.
This year the show was held on Saturday 1st September at the New Eltham
Community Centre (Methodist Centre) in Footscray Road. There were classes for
flowers, fruit, vegetables, flower arranging, jam, cakes plus special classes
for children and novices. This year's theme for the Photography class was 'Wild
but Beautiful' to regognise that things don't have to be manicured or
domesticated to be beautiful.
For the children there were painting, planting a seed tray and Creepy Creatures
classes. It was good to see the entries from the young children last year, a
lot of effort had gone into them and our thanks to Jan Pool of Coombe Nursery
for all her effort. It is something your children/grand children could do while
bored on summer holidays. So please think of us when your children say they
have nothing to do.
Part of the fun of growing it, is showing it. Why not take
part next year?
